Picked this one up yesterday after watching the above Table top Episode... I wanted a game that was quick to learn but hard to master, also fun.

I think I made a good choice, I also like the fact the game is completely playable with 2 people where as a lot of card / board games need 3 plus..

After playing munchkin and a few other games, the thing that struck me was how easy the rules where to remember, you can only do 3 different things on your turn so things move quickly and smoothly even with just two players...

However given the massive size of the play area it is important to keep an eye on your opponents actions because they can get away on you quickly.

Things I noticed in this video:

1. That's a $4,000 Emissary table
2. She's a hairdresser?  Kinda surprised me
3. That's a "fellow comic book nerd"?  I was expecting a heavyset bearded man
4. Their house is crazy tidy for having two kids (watch the backgrounds in the cutaways)
5. Karateka shirt!
6. and then I finally realized they weren't playing at home

Anyway, looks like a fun game that would be pretty easy to play with kids as well.

Despite the over the top delivery from Wil I really enjoy the episodes so far, of note so far they have done 4 games, but only from two different companies so I wonder if the games are not being funded by the companies as advertisements. On the other hand these games are very popular out side the show so I don't think it matters.

FYI if you want to pick this up in a store, I found it a Chapters, I couldn't find any other local stores that stocked it.

As for a table that expensive I am a little surprised it has that much give.

and Colin Ferguson is hilarious

I think I know what board game I'm buying soon...

I suspect the board counting is just a pet peeve between them, I know I have similar ones with my significant other.

She gets that a lot.

The Keep in the background on the left, and the Alexandria Codex in the background on the right.

Damn, I gotta stop looking at the background.

Also, I don't see this "control freak" aspect that you see.  I _do_ understand the pet peeve comment Lazy posted, as I know most spouses have pet peeves about each other.  Familiarity breeds contempt, and all that.  The trick is to remember that whatever you don't like about them, they've got stuff they don't like about you, and then to switch to what you _do_ like about them.

I guess it's just so surprising to see his competitive streak isn't just a well-written villain on TBBT -- it's him in RL ;)

just watch how perfectly he plays to the camera in the "Reality Show" cutaways -- especially when he's losing in Zombie Dice:

[Larry David]Having said that, [/Larry David] it would be awesome to be one of the attendees of his tabletop game nights! Not just for the name-dropping factor (where both Youtube and NetworkTV celebs socialize together!)

So thanks guys. After reviewing the funny bits in that again, some of the "watch this next" stuff at the end of the video got me onto watching some other SciFi related stuff.

Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wfTv5TnJUg  (TNG Exposed)
and this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_TcS-95zXU (SDCC Eureka Panel)

Half way through the latter. So I've only spent like a couple hours on this particular diversion.

Really, thanks.  >:(
<Zapata Prime> I smell Stanley... And he smells good!!!

back on the OP subject (yes, it's ME saying that!) it got me watching a few other TT episodes (including the one where they play 3 games, including Zombie Dice and Tsuro); apparently I'm not the only one, since look @ the Amazon "people who looked at this also bought that" list:
http://amzn.to/gs-Tsuro (there's a pretty good beta "online" version, 2-player, Java: http://www.gametableonline.com/welcome.php )

^ pretty much every one of the "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought" titles are ones that have been in an epsideo of TT  8)
