QuoteSeptember 29, 2006 - VoodooPC's been snapped up Hewlett-Packard, who apparently wish to get into gaming:
Hewlett-Packard will acquire Canada's computer game manufacturer VoodooPC, and will form a separate business unit focused on the video game industry, HP has said in a statement. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, VoodooPC has been dedicated to delivering leading-edge performance, style and craftsmanship to discerning PC enthusiasts, HP said.
"This acquisition, once closed, will extend HP's presence into the high-performance gaming market," it added.
"Following the close of the transaction, HP will form a separate business unit within its Personal Systems Group focused on the gaming industry," the statement said.
The purchase is expected to be finalized in November 2006.
