Seeing as though we all have our sources for information and tools to get what we need, thought it would be nice to keep a compiled list here going of sites.  Just reply with sites, and myself, Magnus, or the other Moderators can edit this post with the list. Will try and keep it alphabetical.

mp3tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/) for audio tools.  far and away the best for organizing 14,000+ mp3s :P

www.tvtorrents.com for torrents (TV torrents :P)

Cova

Best tool I've ever seen for managing MP3's - will find proper title/artist/etc and set ID3 tags.  Works using "acoustic fingerprints", it will find the proper info even if there is no current ID3 tag and the file is named wrong (or has a wrong ID3 tag).   http://musicbrainz.org/

Also - for DVD Decrypter, it was shut down due to being threatened with a lawsuit from Macrovision (the analog copy-protection guys).  As part of the agreement to not be sued by them, Macrovision now owns the DVD Decrypter web-site, and is potentially logging any/all accesses to it.  It is recommended that the first thing you do after installing DVD Decrypter is make sure automatic updating is off.  (checking for automatic updates involves an HTTP request to the DVD Decrypter web-site).

 (FREE!) full-featured multi-track sound recording/editing/converting:

Audacity

(I use it on my Windoze, my bro' uses it on his Mac... identical interface, gotta luv it)

Very handy when listening to online radio you want to grab - visually pick where the appropriate sound bite starts/ends :)

(FREE!) PDF creation:
CutePDF Writer

(haven't tried it yet, but sounds like the above is like a printer driver, i.e. works in your word processor, spreadsheet, browser...)

I have used it, it works well. There are several free ones out now.

Moderators, reminder, please keep the listing in Alphabetical order to make it easier for scanning.  Thanks.

What about Emulation?  As in Daemon Tools http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/portal/portal.php or Alcohol 52% http://www.alcohol-software.com

for FTP, filezilla http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/ is unbeatable for both server and client.  The client can connect multiple times to the same site for quick downloading of like 1000 little files (under packet size).
