I fixed the OP (escaped the "c" in the f-word) ... and hey whaddayamean no jokes? Didn't you read the tiny-print error messages at the bottom of each screen? (other than MSACCESS of course, since it would just hang or crash instead displaying actually useful error messages ;) )

My only lament is that there is no blink tag...
So yeah, with gentoo, you compile everything from scratch. I'm far too lazy to watch through the entire kernel compile its running. It takes long enough when it isn't going as slow as it would on a p1 233. At this rate it'll take an hour or two.
