I was reading up on snow and iron golem's. Apparently they guard NPC towns... You can also craft them (with a risk of them turning on you).

NPC towns are a good place to find a lot of wheat I find. If you have one close, and want to find a bunch of wheat and seeds right quick, the villages are usually covered in them.
<Zapata Prime> I smell Stanley... And he smells good!!!

I don't think Golems can turn on you (though NPC golems will attack you if you attack them/the NPCs)

They're kind of expensive to build though...

according to the wiki if you build them they sometimes forget you are friendly after a server reboot or upgrade...

was thinking it would be cool to have one patrol around my island fortress.

The Wiki states that the snow ones are suicidal and have low life expectancy.

You can time box, login time, you can't really time box creative thinking.... Or sometimes research... At least looking up stuff on the wiki looks like normal surfing and the typing sounds like working. ;)
