"Gamification" is the concept of turning boring training into some type of game to get people more engaged with the learning process.  Many places tried it, did it wrong, and are now moving on (isn't that how it always goes in the corporate world, never enough time spent to properly implement a concept?)

This here's an excellent parody of gamification, done using gamification: http://gamedeveloper.texterity.com/gamedeveloper/201105?pg=58#pg58.  It's a weird digital print thing, so you'll probably get a popup saying you're previewing the digital edition, so just close that.  And then click on the text on the left side and it'll magnify to readable levels.
Prayin' for a 20!
