US Rail Starts New Construction
-- Plans to Link Rail and Grand Central

Usamot Southern Rail (US Rail) has started new construction on an extension to its rail network that will allow travellers to get aboard a US Rail train at Grand Central, and travel south to any of the stops US Rail services.  The initial phases consist of digging a flat bed for rail, then laying down cobblestone for the rail to run on.  Once the rail is laid, a roof (planned to be glass) will be installed over the rail, and finally a connection to US Rail's Pineview Station will be made.  New stops will include Grand Central and a stop by the entrance to UTA's underground Pineview Station.  All stops will use US Rail's new standard station, as can be seen at it's current Pineview, Platform 9 3/4, and Southern Junction stations.

The UTA is concerned how the C Line will link with the existing A Line, since construction of the Terminal was a joint venture we should hold a conference and plan upcoming designs to avoid duplication of work / system delays.

The UTA was designing a new terminal under the Grand Central building, however this could be converted to a smaller "dip" style station link.

Another proposal is to manage different track depths for the various lines with stairs and concourses connecting them.

Having done excavations in the area the UTA should inform US Rail of an extensive "Epic" cave system below the land currently occupied by Grand Central Terminal, this may mean less mining is required however there are existing structures and hazards to be aware of.

Additional Note (for right of way on tracks)

Currently the A Line exists as a partially bi-directional track system, the right of way is as follows:

Left Track--------Right Track

US Rail Completes New Construction
-- Grand Central to Frontier Station Now Connected

Usamot Southern Rail (US Rail), a subsidiary of Thor Industries Corp (TIC), has finished the construction of the connecting line between the US Rail's C Line and Grand Central Terminal.  After many delays, including cancelled permits and various underground hazards, Usamotians can now board a train on the lower level of Grand Central Terminal and ride it to any of the stops that US Rail services.

The Usamot Transport Authority (UTA) had previously completed building a station underneath Grand Central Terminal to link to the UTA's A Line.  Given that US Rail's C Line now enters the lower level of Grand Central Terminal, it is now easier than ever to transfer from the A Line to the C Line.

US Rail thanks UTA for all work done ahead of time getting the lower level of Grand Central Terminal ready and in a pleasing state.
