QuoteBurnout Revenge Announced; Nudies

April 04, 2005 - In a brief press release EA has today announced the fourth Burnout title, Revenge:

According to the 2004 Urban Mobility Report by the Texas Transportation Institute, U.S. commuters endured 3.5 billion hours of traffic delays in 2002, at a cost of more than $63.2 billion. It's hell on the highway and Electronic Arts today announced plans to let gamers live out their wildest commuter fantasies this September with Burnout Revenge.

Burnout Revenge lets gamers rip through rush hour traffic and lay waste to scores of rubbernecking roadhogs in an over-the-top scene of vehicular mayhem. The game is currently in development by Criterion Games for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and Xbox video game system from Microsoft.

In addition to tricked out new race, crash and road rage modes, Burnout Revenge takes the series' blistering speed and spectacular destruction to dizzying new heights with an all-new Revenge mode, challenging gamers to battle the clock and unleash their frustrations on rush hour traffic.

Xbox2 maybe?  Developing a new game for Xbox1 seems like a massive waste of man hours

Not neccsarily.  If this is more like a full game expansion using the same engine, like Battlefield: Vietname, the development time might not be too great.  And does anybody know if Xbox2 will be compatible with Xbox1 games?

From the sounds of it, not out of the box, but with an "addon" perhaps.

Its not a big deal to me to have it backwards as i already own an xbox.

It's could still be a big seller as long as it launches before Xbox2.. It's not like all of those existing xbox consoles disappear over night.

I tend to agree, but thinking into the future a bit, i cant think of any franchise that might be ready to release on Xbox launch.
