Unlike sites like Lokitorrent that have been shut down in the past, torrents on EasyTree were usually unreleased live musical performances rather than commercial product. Is a site that shares old Stevie Nicks, Frank Sinatra, and Ian Hunter live shows really that much of a threat to the music industry?"

If only somebody did some statistically-trustworthy survey of those who have purchased commercial titles *after* sampling full-quality product (whether video, audio, other entertainment) to show that, rather than fighting new techno-distributional changes, The Man should be jumping on board and taking advantage of the improved efficiency (for The Man) and precise control (for The Customer).

I hope I just made more think than I sense I did.

PS: the /. discush mentioned that http://easytree.org/ has a sorta heir-apparent, only it's (allegedly) legal 100% to the max, called ETree. Anyone ever heard of? (Not that I ever heard of EasyTree before this post!)
