Bitcoin is the only one worth something significant in the real world at the moment, and even then it appears highly unstable.. Unless you lucked out mining it or getting some a while ago you will be dealing in bit decimal places..

Litecoin is the only one I have seen used in the wild and that was only on a torrent site taking it for donations.

It is an area to keep an eye on...

I bought a bitcoin mining rig in may or june, and after it mined about 10 BTC, sold it for twice what I paid for it. Of course I used that 10BTC to buy a new mining rig pre-order. won't know if that was a good decision till likely march, unless the company manages to release earlier than their guestimate (Q1/Q2).

I've done ok, by being fairly conservative. But if I had put all of the money I spent into BTC in april AND kept it, I'd have > $80k. because hindsight.

I'm a bit leery of any fiat currency with such shaky backing. The big one, Bitcoin was created by either an actual man named Satoshi Nakamoto, or a person or group of people using that pseudonym. NOBODY KNOOOWWWWWWS

Of course I currently hold a tomato heavy portfolio so what do I know...

Bitcoin mid-December 2017 = OVER 19000!!!

Bitcoin now (mid-September 2018) = just under 6500 O_o

Ouch, for some folks.

Compare to https://archive.is/65Qg2 = mid-2010 thru mid-2016, with price peaking at < 1500 in mid-2014!

SWINGS! MADNESS!

The loto max is currently over 10 Million, crypto is a gamble based only on speculation until there is a solid use for it.
