Sliders was bad for mixing up episodes, especially since the end of one episode would see them slide to a new dimension, then the start of the next episode wouldn't have them in that dimension at all.

Sounds like the genius that is Arrested Development -- specifically the "on the next AD..." and "previously on AD..." , almost all of those scenes are completely made-up BS that only exists in those bumpers #geniusIsay
