Not to side track from hosting but I wonder if a self hosted image platform like https://immich.app/ would be faster than rolling your own?

I don't normally see much about NSFW polies in the posts but I have noticed a number of smaller canadian hosting providers popping up in buy Canadian discussions.

You looking to build something for your commissions?

I need a gallery to show off originals / commissions / contact. I'm planning on building it with NextJS, which means node, etc etc. I'd self host but I don't want to spring for a business plan and a 2nd router to keep my networks separate.

thing is I draw a good volume of nsfw content so... yeah finding a host is a bit tricky. A lot of them are pretty wishy/washy about 1. nsfw in general 2. parody. I read horror stories from others about getting nuked because the wind changed direction at their host that had a "decency" clause one day and just nuked their content. Anything open to interpretation by the host is basically a big wide open door for instant termination if they feel like it or even get the slightest legal pressure.

I'm looking to set up a site that may contain nsfw content and one of the few options suggested by reddit is Bullten.

Has anyone got experience with them or know if they are decent?

A long time ago at this point the hype died and hadn't heard of it again till it recently resurfaced

That's understandable the project was picked up by a big publisher with a lot of hype around it and then cancelled, the original creator bought back the rights and continued work on it with a new team
