So has anybody seen this yet?
Yes, and it's ... Burgundy!
I got to drink beer while watching. One of my kid's teams did a fundraiser where we rented a movie theater as a private function, bought beer and coolers, and sold tickets for admission that included a couple of free beers and then five bucks a beer after that. And the guy organizing it would bring the beer to your seat during the movie. Also, since it was all adults, we paused the movie about halfway through for an intermission (pee break, since we were drinking).
If you liked the first one, you'll probably like this one.
Good! I'm thinking of going sometime this week
Mmmm beer... that reminds me, I really miss the Elephant & Castle
Elephant & Castle is shut down?!

Long gone now yeah.
I guess the sale of the stuff that they had on the walls was fairly significant when it came up
The city centre location is closed? :o it hasn't been THAT long has it?
Yep, almost a year now, when they sold off their fixtures it made the news, they had a lot of cool stuff there.

Wow. I guess it's been a while since we went for that movie then huh. Gotta do that again soon man.
Yepp!
Friday after work bro-time? Count me in...
Could do yeah!
It depends on how ugly the sidewalks get, I just about slipped down the hill coming home today, I'm working from home tomorrow for sure!

Sidewalks were brutal last night, I would walk on the road but there's so much snow on either side I'd be in the middle of it
Ugh!!
I'll scout around later today, I kind of want to go into the office on Friday
If it's too cold and or windy/slippery, we should just wait till it isn't quite so bad. No use all of us falling on our asses and breaking a tailbone or three.
I'll do a reccy at lunch, see if they got any machines out today. Optionally I can LRT it to the station and take a cab home, especially if I'm gonna have a couple of beers before or after
It's funny the only ugly part is the last 1/2 KM around my house, everything else is bare pavement
One thing I'm looking forward to is the new theatre opening over here. I've heard it'll have one of those licensed adult screens with the big comfy chairs, and food. The slightly not so good thing is I think they'll be closing the claireview theatre once this one is open (since cineplex went and bought their older theatres back again).
current weather = Wind: WSW 11 km/h
tomorrow expected high +6C.
I doubt ice will be a problem between the LRT and whatever movie theatre we choose.

DAY-um. That means less accessibility, then, don't it? What's the location of the new theatre? How close to LRT/buses? I really hope it ain't gonna be a "power centre" around 153Ave near Manning (http://www.connect2edmonton.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=19702). ??? aka "Manning Town Centre"? http://www.camdevcorp.com/images/uploads/Manning_TC.pdf via http://www.camdevcorp.com/index.php/projects/

Yeah that's the place. I think there's already a mini bus that goes in there? Not 100% sure, but if it hasn't happened yet, it needs to. The 184 goes by there though too. And the 302 does till 18th opens back up. theres already a bunch of stuff open in there, like a lowes :D so much more convenient than going to HomeDepot.
Man, I hope they don't close Claireview Theatre, lots of good memories there
That's the theatre I hit up on the weekends during the summer, that and City Centre
I really don't like that these huge theatre complexes are so hard to get to by transit...

Well if it's @ 153 Ave that is stupidly smack-dab halfway in the middle of current Clareview LRT/bus and the upcoming Gorman station -- wtf retail/commercial developers, do you even GET how transit-focused this city is trying to be?
EDIT: oops, my bad, Gorman is actually just on the north edge of this proposed development -- http://www.edmonton.ca/transportation/ets/lrt_projects/north-lrt-study.aspx -- in the same way as Clareview is on the north edge of the current strip mall area including Superstore/Future Shop thru Walmart... For some reason I thought Gorman was closer to 167 Ave.
I don't imagine the accessibility will be terrible forever, but currently it's not great. I do think there's already a mini bus that has a stop in the center, but don't quote me on that. Otherwise the 184 does go right by it.

Actually upon second look, you can see how distant the LRT station is planned to be, pretty damn far to the east from even the edge of the Manning Power Centre:
http://www.edmonton.ca/transportation/Gorman_CCP_Map.pdf
According to http://www.camdevcorp.com/images/uploads/Manning_TC.pdf the MPC would extend to the east to 34 Street ... But the Gorman LRT station would be (based on PDF above) around 29 Street and maybe 157Ave ... a quick estimate via Google Maps looks like that's maybe 1km, if not more ... and imagine during winter... (by comparison, current Clareview to Future shop is less than 200m)
OH damn, on the other side of fort road? That's a bit harsh. They'd have to have a bus go back an forth, regularly and often.
So... It's Friday, theatre location and show time guys?
Good question! I'm assuming it'll be downtown. As to time, I dunno!
I'm out, very ugly getting around my place and I'm already having a @% day
Ah ok. That sucks. Maybe next week then :)
I'm going to check outside around lunch, I was talking to my neighbour when I took the trash out and it sounds like they may get somebody to do the sidewalks.
If that's the case then I'll let you guys know
I'm having a really bad start today too, so it's put me off, but I also want to get out and see the movie!
Sounds good :)
Ugh. I am so not going to get much done today. can't concentrate at all. Making no progress >:(
I'm still down for some scotch and flute jazz...

I'm starting to get one of the side effects I get from higher doses of ssri/snri's.. I upped my dose a couple weeks ago or so. And its finally starting to kick in. So far I'm not getting the super bad (nightmares) side effect that they give me. But the less bad, but still annoying one is back (reduced libido, not that important cause I don't get none, so I don't worry about it).
