I was REALLY hoping this was a rumor when I first read about it earlier this year. More bland unfunny crap hooray...

The only benefit I can see is that there has been a dispute over distribution rights between Fox and Warner Bros to the 1966 Batman so perhaps this will loosen THAT mess up ( source ).
