Well looks like EA is just signing deals all over the place to make sure they are the only ones with the right to make any sports game based on real life leagues.

Exclusive rights deals are usually bad news, with no competition there will be no innovation and pro-sports games will suck.

Its true...

I'm a big hockey fan and love my hockey vids. Just based on rep alone I went and bought EA 2005 for the xbox (been my brand ever since the first one came out in 92') and it was an awful game. Last year I rented ESPN 2K4 a few times and it was an outstanding game.

EA has the better "Dynasty Mode", but you can't sacrfice that for gameplay and that's was ESPN has, great gameplay. Don't get me wrong ESPN 2K5 (I bought also, right after I found out EA sucked ass) has a really good "Season Mode" also. EA just does it that much better. Any football fans out there would also appreciate ESPN Football game.

I hope EA uses ESPN's gameplay and EA's Dynasty mode. If not, then it's not looking like a bright future for our hockey vid's.

 Take2 owns the MLB :)

...however i was hoping ESPN NFL 2K5 would become College 2K6 (seeing as Take2 also lost the ESPN licence)
