New AMD socket next year.. M2

So the 939 socket supports both current single and dual core chips, but when AMD moves to 90nm next year the M2 will replace it :(

So much for upgrade options.

 GAH!!!  Okay.  So its a good thing i went with the 3200XP then going Athlon64.

THis is horrible for AMD.  Compile this latest switch with the old 754 pin Athlon64 and you got a mixed bag of ass.

You could be on the INTEL upgrade path and require a New BTX case ;)

It's not like they haven't been doing this for years.. Its just from the sound of it 939 was going to be THE platform for a while.
