Uhh...

I am dismayed that they would think to make a Rock Em Sock Em Robots movie.  I'm even more dismayed to read that there is already a robot-boxing movie in the works that RESER would compete with, called Real Steel!
Prayin' for a 20!

gcc thorin.c -pedantic -o Thorin
compile successful

So should we be glad they aren't just more remakes? What next? Slinky the movie? How about light bright?

Just when I thought "Marmaduke" was sinking to the lowest point of pointless film "adaptations"...

...I guess "Real Steel" actually IS* the Rockemsockem movie... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0433035/

sure makes me think of a certain cartoon episode...

* or is it? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0433035/board/nest/40454238 ("good" news: more childhood/board games coming to the Big Screen soon...)

... I cannot even BEGIN to fathom what properties will be raped next...

Though it begs the question: When you've made a film out of every crappy TV series / cartoon / game / sex position / occupation / biographies / etc will producers start making original works again??

sounds like it's not terribad as the premise would lead you to expect. Cuz it doesn't take itself seriously! (whew)

and an IMDB'er even starts his review with "A Spielbergian movie with a lot of heart"

essentially an emotion-driven sports/underdog story, like Rocky meets AI/Blade Runner maybe?

...hey now, watch yourself! It's really not that bad of a movie, sure it hasn't aged as well as Blade Runner or Dr. Strangelove, but it's still a decent story...
