Pants, I'd just like to say I used the Blaze Farm a couple of days ago and it sure worked well.  That crushing trap really does bring them down to one hit point (I had maybe three out of a hundred die from it, but they probably were jumping at the wrong time or something).  Thanks for building it and thanks for letting us know where to find it so we could use it :)

How exactly does it work? Water isn't stable in the nether. :(

The blazes come down into a 2x2 area, then you push the Crusher button and a roof gets closed over them, then blocks get shoved into their heads for a certain length of time.  They take damage as long as their head is in a block.  This is timed perfectly to get them down to a half heart (one hit point), then you have to whack 'em with something (most people use food).

Ah, the original image seemed to show water beside them or something.

I've seen another design that uses glass blocks to basically put them in a specific area where you are safe and can still hit them.

Crushers work pretty good too!

That blue you see there is actually Lapis Lazuli blocks.  A good idea for two reasons, 1) it gives the lapis in the inventory a job, 2) it's really easy to see when the crusher trap is already active.
