There's a few other pictures of underpasses flooding.  The problem is that the storm drains and storm sewer system aren't built to handle giant downpours because they're very, very infrequent and it costs a lot more to make them handle the bigger downpours.  But that means every ten to twenty years we'll have underpasses that are impassable for a day.

Except 109th would flood every other month.

And people wonder why I bought a pickup instead of a smaller car.  All the flooded Edmonton road pictures I've seen so far, the pickups are making it through.  Maybe if Edmonton had installed better storm sewers when they were still building up the city...
