Jeebus, two clicks later and I was at the Fight The Power video: http://youtu.be/2WHe5fxS3dA

I remember that coming out and it being a BIG DEAL.  Now it's 1) culturally relevant instead of today's complete bull@%&# rap and 2) almost puritan in its lyrics compared to today's rap.  Once money's involved, the art goes out the window.

Wacky stuff! Crazy stuff!

Meanwhile, in Edge City...

Vault-Tec HQ now has the correct courtyard, complete with non-irradiated tree (but you know if you are worried about irradiated trees let us tell you about Project Safehouse! Available from Vault-Tec)

I also tried the water shader mod, it looks cool, except for underwater where it glitches real bad against windows :C

We also have a Centre for the Performing Arts in Edge City

Upcoming builds:
-The Statesman Hotel
-Hospital

I need to design a city hall too at some point, also I want to build a large-ish port to the north complete with container ship!

Aww yeah, feel free!

Just be careful at night, lots of stuff is usually around as spawn areas are decreasing within a several-chunk area.

Endermen seem to love warping into Vault-Tec...

All it needs is a pot of gold at the end.

I only died once creating this!

The hardest part, by the way, was deciding where to build it.  Gathering the resources took time, and the actual build itself took about 2.5 hours, what with all the scaffolding to put up and then remove later (without falling!), but I had a real brain-block going on trying to decide on just where I would build this.

lol

I'm thinking of either the Spruce Goose or a giant waterfall.

Why the Spruce Goose?  Well, the kids were watching Phineas and Ferb's "De Plane! De Plane!" a couple days ago where they build the Paper Pelican (out of paper-mache) in tribute to Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose.  Man, I love that show, it definitely doesn't talk down to kids.  Seriously, watch "Excaliferb" sometime (I'm sure it's on the youtube).  Anyway, that made me wonder if I could build a giant wodden airplane in the sky...

Or a giant waterfall, because that would just look cool on the overviewer!

Those would all be great builds! I've been toying around with airplane designs for a while, I might start with something small like a biplane and move up though heh, wood half-slabs FTW!

And yes, Phineas and Ferb is an excellent cartoon.

If you're going to build planes in the sky, I challenge you to do it without turning on flying - a huge part of the effort is building scaffolding to be able to place blocks, and then to remove that scaffolding afterwards.

Easy peasy, I do this all time with an abundant resource called "dirt".

Build a noob tower, branch out, do your build then shovel it away.

Netherrack also works and breaks faster

Of course if this was Tekkit you could actually just build scaffold (it's a ladder AND a platform and you can build it from the ground (no more hop/place block/hop)
