Nice new blue glass office tower!  I'll have to go have a closer look at it later.

What extras are you using to make the water ripple and the clouds be all soft and the shadows be all proper-shadowy?

Damn your amazing builds.

I blame the filters, they make everything look good: -)

I'm using Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders

In fact,, to find the link I found out there's a new version ready

http://sonicether.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=168&sid=bf2b8dc8f2be02b58c06848e092ccb9e

This is surprisingly easy to install, first get and install the latest version of the GLSL shaders mod here:
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1544257-172shaders-mod-v2312-updated-by-karyonix/

There is an installer that will add a profile to your Minecraft launcher, in that profile it will add a new option to the options screen that lets you select or add a shader pack. Just drop SEUS in the folder and select it in the interface and watch your game transform

I have been holding off on shaders in 1.8 because of the sunlight in caves bug.

Thorin

I've been holding off on shaders et al because of crappy graphics cards...

Depending on the shader pack you get (and there are some for low performance) usually only affect framerate

I did some spelunking yesterday and didn't see any sunlight in deep caves, but I would get some glitching inside larger structures

SEUS v10.1 Preview 2 adds a few things:
-Less harsh lighting
-Puddle effects in rain!

That was Snowie0wl, he used it to make that scrambled-tv-channel effect on his giant tv here: http://forums.righteouswrath.com/index.php/topic,8498.msg82557.html#msg82557

Here's the actual TeleGrotto on the map: http://ov.mc.tomasu.org/planetbob/#/-1511/64/113/max/0/0

And I guess his buddy made the Mario Pipe.

Item elevator + pipes = 1 step closer to automation!

My huge pit is finally down to lvl 10 (which is roughly where I wanted to be) so now I can start branching out mineshafts, but how do I get all the stuff I mine up to the surface? A KICK ASS ITEM ELEVATOR! (and an item pipe made with hoppers

Turns out I had enough materials to make this happen rather quickly today (ok, I've been playing since 4:30 or so) I DID have to go into creative a couple times to fix some wiring but man, this works amazing

Elevator tutorial here:
https://youtu.be/otWucbMpw4c?t=10s

The next step is building a rail system that will shunt material automatically to the elevator

Man I was enjoying the automation I had set up and the power went out

I was wonderin' where you went.  I managed to build another, taller tower for my City of Tomorrow.
