Its Adventure Time... well adventure game time at least

ummm... I guess I haven't been keeping up to date on the whole Double Fine scandal stuff:
Quote
I backed the project formerly known as Double Fine Adventure. I?m among those who thinks Schafer suffered a mental break when he decided not to deliver the $3.3 million adventure game he promised, opting instead for a project that cost twice as much, took twice as long, and, oh yeah, he needs more money for. Imagine what would have happened if he only got the $400,000 he originally asked for... http://www.gamefront.com/why-im-done-with-kickstarter/

Can anyone summarize the events hinted at above? Is Tim all crazy-in-the-head-but-in-a-good-way and he just changed his mind exactly what format his awesome delivery will appear? Or did he do A Bad Thing?

I will put it this way, the documentary shows why so many projects get cut down by publishers.

My take is that he intended to make something small and simple, was massively over funded, his vision grew, became more expensive and he has really pushed his luck by splitting it into two parts and getting additional funding.

However he now has a studio composed sound track, and voice talent such as Elijah Wood and Wil Wheaton.

I will tell you what I think of part 1.

Also there is a documentary of the whole thing as it has played out so you can always watch that when it gets released. I have been watching the episodes and it is entertaining to say the least.

As for Act 1, it was very enjoyable, great animation, story and music... However FAR too easy.
