The foxes are really cute, the pandas are really funny, THERE'S WANDERING TRADERS AND BANDITS THAT RAID VILLAGES.  All in all, I think they added a lot of new play mechanics without messing with the game as-is.  Honestly, Mojang has been doing a great job moving the game forward since Microsoft bought them.

I love that you can help defend a village against bandits and if you kill the bandit leader then other bandits will recognize you as a protector hero and target you more ("Bad Omen" levels).

If you successfully defend it the villagers give you discounts on trades as well. Villagers have been completely reworked.

There are classes of villagers with specific blocks / locations so you can more easily find your way around.

The new blocks list is HUGE! So many more things to craft that have come from various mods over time (barrels, blast furnaces, cartography tables, so much more...) This is a substantial update.

Hah, yeah, the blast furnaces and smokers are a wonderful addition that will halve the time spent standing at the Great Forges of Erebor (40 or so furnaces) waiting for everything to smelt.

FYI there's a version of Optifine out for 1.14.3
https://www.optifine.net/home

My shader pack works pretty well with it so I'm happy

As noted in the other thread I have already managed to force the selection of a librarian that trades for the mending enchantment.. It isn't free but it makes is SO much easier to get.

Glad to see there's a new Optifine.  And glad to see there's a way to get the Mending enchantment on tools.  Not having to replace weapons / armour / tools is nice.

Just don?t die in lava or falling into the void repeatedly like I have been.

Mr. Analog

I logged in yesterday to try out some of the new blocks, boy there's a lot of new stuff to build!

I think I'm going to relocate from spawn to the plains biome and start a new home there. I'm hoping to find one of the new villages there seems to be a lot of fun new mechanics to play with

Don?t forget about scaffolding. We need to find bamboo hopefully.

Oh heck yeah! That's one thing I miss from the Tekkit days, especially for big builds

I built a composter and I'm not very impressed with it, a jillion seeds and you get 2 bonemeal (boooo) the smoker cooks really fast, same as the blast furnace. No more waiting around for cooking / smelting ore. I want to find a guide for all the new villager blocks but not even the wiki has a page that lists them all. I know about things like the cartographer table and the new furnaces listed above but I have no idea what the others are or what they do.

I want to find a new village so I can see some of the new game mechanics at work, I'm also hoping to find some illagers though it sounds like they are going to be a challenge to fight on my own. I wish we had an overviewer map so I could see where we haven't fully explored yet.

I'm finding the nether portal system a little difficult to navigate, there are a lot of passages that link up and backtrack onto each other and so it's easy to get turned around in there.

Ya the neither transport system needs a re-work.  Also it is huge we probably should evolve it into an ice based fast travel system.
