We are now officially led by King Charles III, who is already 73, so we'll likely see Prince William (current heir-apparent) become king within our lifetime.

In truth, it really doesn't affect us day-to-day.

Might get new pictures on our money.. New photo / portrait in the governor generals office but you are correct connections are fairly weak or it has been a VERY VERY long time since any of the remaining powers have been tested.

The name changes across the legal profession and military are going to take a while

In most cases it's referred to as HRH his/her royal highness but in some circles it's still "the Queen's bench" etc
