The only downside to all these random mappers is there's no _story_ created for why the dungeon is the way it is.  When I DMed, I always thought up the plotline and at least part of the story first, then drew a dungeon that matched that general theme.  Sometimes it took a while to discover the theme, but there was always a theme or reason for the dungeon to exist.

I kinda like generating a dungeon and then thinking of what the rooms were for and then tweaking it a bit to make it work.

Though as I'm sure a few of you recall this sometimes didn't work out so well haha
