Anyone use a slingbox?  How well do they work?  Im looking at using it as a way to get TV from my living room to my office, but potentially anywhere in the world via my laptop.

All the reviews on futureshop are positive... but that can be deceving. I would get one from Best Buy and if it sux bring it back. :D

They are very popular with users of my Windows Mobile Phone, however for the time being if you are cheap you might want to try http://orb.com/ . It is currently free and uses your PC, worked rather well in my tests streaming saved content, however I here the Turner feature is a little fussy.

Just a note before jumping into the Slingbox wagon, there are several new units that where just announced.

here is a review of the new pro unit

Seeing as I dont have an HD source I would be more inclined to go with the normal version.  I looked at the Orb.com thing but I lack a TV tuner for my PC, and I would have to go USB TV tuner if I went for one.  Slingbox looks like the near perfect solution, im just not a fan of the $200 price tag, i want it for $100!

Didn't take long.  I scored it during the Dell Days of Deals for $149

If I ever got one I would hide it somewhere.. The standard one is so damn ugly.
