Cleaning up unused chunks to let them regenerate?

Hi All,

We did this once in past versions of the server with a custom tool, it looks like current tools exist https://github.com/Querz/mcaselector#usage that can do the same.

Any interest in shrinking the world buy deleting / resetting unused chunks?

Many of our chunks where created in 1.13 so they are missing both 1.14 and 1.15 elements.

Not something I plan to do immediately but something I am curious about.

I'd be fine with that. People would have to indicate what areas to keep, right? Sounds like a lot of work for you, but if you're willing to do it I'd be happy to see a bunch of the world cleared and re-created in 1.15.
Prayin' for a 20!

gcc thorin.c -pedantic -o Thorin
compile successful

Apparently the new world format contains info down to how many game ticks any player has spent in a chunk.. It looks like the tool I linked could make it fairly easy to trim stuff people just crossed and haven't spent time in.

I say go for it. There's a lot of dead world out there and it could use a trim
