Mr. Analog

Well, I got my first taste today, serious framerate issues and the default FOV is really close (even for me)

The intro quests are really FETCHY and not fun, I'm also not a fan of the UI. This game was clearly designed for a controller.

I feel like it will get better but man, I had more fun playing Starbound!

That's what I heard as well as serious server bugs atm.

Played for 3 hours... Didn't have as much trouble getting my ship going since the planet I started on wasn't killing me but damn am I board of shooting plants/rocks and searching sparse generic structures on different worlds.

Going to read up a bit as apparently there is combat and other stuff but damn if I have to fly for hours to find it I am already done.

Putting a bit more time in... Finding / crafting things to increase your inventory helps a bit.

The language learning sounds cool but is actually really grindy when you only learn one random word at a time and apparently there are over a hundred per species.

Lazybones

Not lost on this game but at the same time it is a slow slow slow paced game.

More trading and stat building than action.

Things pick up a bit if you follow the main quest... You also start to get attacked by pirates and stuff.. However I find the ships flight controls so horrible that it is hard to hit the pirates... So far I have just repaired my shields and ran.

I found this little demo by the main dev to be quite detailed and it maintained my interest (posted back in April 2016) -- the SCALE is unmatched anything before by the looks of things. The procedural CREATURES** alone amazes me, when I think back to when SPORE was first being demo'd. That feels like only a couple of years ago...

But I can imagine some parts of NMS quickly become grind-y though.

For those whom have played, how does this review stack up: http://ca.ign.com/articles/2016/08/16/no-mans-sky-review?watch

I have logged only 13hrs and that review is spot on...

I haven't maxed out my gear yet or finished the one vague quest line I have been working on but the review sums it up.. They also failed to note that inventory and upgrades take up the same slots in the three things that have them, your ship, suite and omnitool.. You are constantly in search for more space for all three and while you can visually get different ships and omnitools they only differ in slots and in the case of the ship some cockpit viewing space.

Found this video that is a compilation of many videos and contradictions from previous E3s.

In several places real gameplay has been cut over the original E3 stuff.

A more feature by feature run down of specific game play that was described MULTIPLE TIMES but does not exist in the game.

If they patch some of this in it would sure make the game more interesting.
