Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay

Amazing detail. Even the way the light reflects and warps on that one dude's gold arm, geez wow.

Watching this reminded me of how I first felt playing through the original Deus Ex, that immersive with the open world potential to play it out in a variety of ways. Only a bit more advanced ;)

Some eye-catching comments (within the last 2 hours anyway)

"I don't have a jaw anymore."

"i don't think i've ever busted a 48 minute long nut before"

"THIS. GAME. IS. EVERYTHING!  Holy @%&#, this was like a gods damned mini movie, and I NEED MORE, NOW!

Seriously, this game looks outstanding.  Would have liked to see those Mantis blades in action a little more (I'm assuming there will be dedicated melee skills and gear, in the same way there were mods and weapons for ranged combat shown in this demo)

But yeah, everything from the universe, to the city, to the characters and missions look 10/10.  I was excited for this game before, now I've gone beyond."

Honest question, did you watch the whole gameplay demo? @%&#in INSANE.

Also, personally, since I'm unlikely to ever actually buy it and play it -- because, BUSY ADULT -- mostly what I care about is how the cut-scenes playthru videos will entertain me during some future week's lunchtimes. And based on what I've seen, entertain me they most Shirley shall! ;)

Also, I can actually imagine maybe buying it and playing it. That's how immersive the world seems to promise to be. O_O

Sounds like you would really like the Witcher stuff from the same company then...

I really tried to like The Witcher III but the controls were so bad I just couldn't. I might take another crack at it again sometime

Again the main concern I have is exactly related to the WATCH_DOGS "gameplay" video. I'm sure these guys won't make the same mistakes but there are some pretty big claims being thrown around in terms of what you can do and how the world works that smacks of what happened before that lead to so much disappointment.

The way the story points branch and the gunplay look good, the demo made it all seem pretty smooth - I am concerned with fully voiced protags though, it's gonna be character dissonance again where you're a shady badass but talking like a goodie-goodie. I really hated that with Fallout 4 (esp after Nuka World DLC where you could be a raider boss)

Everything said and done it looks like the perfect combination of Fallout and GTAV that I've always wanted plus a cool cyberpunk world, here's hoping it doesn't play like butt

New trailer

There are also several game reviewers that where given 4-hour play sessions. It is looking good.

Comparison of 2018 to 2020 trailers

None of the reviewers who have played complained about graphics. Only item I noted one reviewer note is that the city has A LOT of npcs walking around but fewer than featured in crowd demo in 2018.

Yeah its the only way to get a high end video card is order a rig from the big company.  @Suronal already says it looks way better on my Stream than his, and his is running it on a 2070.

So yeah I didn't skimp on the order either, first desktop in 12 years for me.  Unfortunately with the power reqs of the 30xx cards, they don't think they will be getting them into laptops any time soon.

It hurt me to do so (you guys know me and how I love my gaming laptops), but got me an Alienware Aurora R11 w/ an Intel i9 10th Gen, 64GB (16x4) Ram, 1TB+2TB NVMe, 2TB SATA SSD, 3090 TI 24GB. I've already upgraded the fans to "Corsair ML120 PRO 120 mm Premium Magnetic Levitation RGB LED PWM Fan" (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B076VD725X/) cause the existing ones it comes with are too noisy. Also bought a Micro Connectors PCIE-M20802HS Dual 2280 (https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX75789) for the 2TB NVMe (the rig only can do one NVMe on board - which I wasn't used to as all my laptops usually have 2+), at a recommendation from MemEx salesman, but regret as I would never buy this product again for this reason due to poor instructions and paste-tap solution.

And in the end, I'm able to play Cyberpunk without any need to turn anything down or off.  That I like :D.

NOTE: The only reason I bought this rig when I did is that my Employee Purchase Plan (EPP) at NAIT was up, and I always renew the $3200 interest free loan (for computer purchases) over 36 pay checks term every time it matures.

Steam tip, add these two launch options to the game

--launcher-skip -skipStartScreen
"--launcher-skip" will skip the GOG/CPR launcher which as far as I can tell just shows news and adds a button click other than linking your GOG account.

"-skipStartScreen" will skip the redundant spacebar press / breaching menu saving you a second click on startup.

Any yes the single and double dashes appear to matter.

Sadly no easy way so skip the other intro stuff.
