From the dept. of Holy @%&#  :o

QuoteKotaku is reporting that EA has purchased BioWare and Pandemic Studios, having offered some $620 million in cash to the Elevation Partners group to buy up VG Holding Corp. From the press release:
Quote"'We are truly excited by John Riccitiello's new vision for EA,' said Ray Muzyka, Co-founder and CEO of BioWare Corp. 'This vision is consistent with BioWare's focus on crafting the highest quality story-driven games in the world. It will enable us to further the careers of the passionate, creative and hard working teams at BioWare Edmonton and BioWare Austin.'"

Oh stit my ass!

Stit?  I looked in dictionary.com and the only entry was a lookup in Acronym Finder.  So I clicked it and went to Acronym Finder:

Quote from: http://www.acronymfinder.com/af-query.asp?Acronym=STIT&p=dict
STIT     Scientific & Technical Information Team
STIT     Sindicato de Trabajadores de La Industria Textil (Spanish)

Neither one of those make sense to have anything to do with your ass... :D

Hey what are you talking about, they've never been indie, haven't they ALWAYS been "owned" by a megacorp, you know like Bungee etc. ;)

Oh, and thanks SO MUCH for making "Aliens" start a playback loop in my brain. It's a Friday; I'm unmotivated enough as it is  ::)

Stit = @%&# but nicely put and beats most word filters.  Also doesn't sound as bad. :P :D

Bad news for gamers in every way. The only hope is that EA treats Bioware the same as Microsoft treated Bungie in that they are under the corporate flag but still can do what they want and how they want.

The days of the indie developer look pretty over :(

Thankfully Mass Effect won't be effected by this news.
