My parents have Optik TV and I'm not impressed with it, so you must be on some new version of it

Telus PURE fibre 150/150 has started appearing in many areas around here, so that has my interest more than anything, it is not available at my address yet. My understanding is that it is fibre to the curb and then they run a new Ethernet line to your house.

Since I purchased the fairly expensive Bonded VADSL modem needed to get my current service, I would have to see a rather BIG delta in cost or service for me to switch off of Lightspeed at this time.

Yeah, Telus Fiber is showing up in Edmonton area as well, but doesn't existing near my house yet.

https://fibre.telus.com/ if you want to check your postal code. Site error-ed out on me the other day.

Now 30Mbit up is great, but once you go over 100 UP you can start to do other interesting things with your service...

I am already keeping an on some of the cheaper online storage solutions.. While I love my local gigabit network, 100Mbit in both directions generally would be more than enough for streaming and large files. The 1TB limit might be a problem for initial data load however.

Checked their coverage map, and MOST of the city is "Planned for future expansions". lol.

But you're not actively switching back and forth every six months, right?

I think our RW gang is not "typical" though -- the 50Mbps down is fine by me and most, since streaming is enough for my entertainment purposes... But yeah if I needed faster I would be stuck with Shaw I guess.
