Title: Real world hard drive reliability.
Post by: Mags on January 21, 2014, 01:48:00 PM
Interesting article I thought:

I've avoided Hitachi's drives since they were simple a re-branding of the IBM drives division. And getting screwed in the whole Deathstar drive fiasco never thought I would go back. May have to change my mind.

I've actually been really happy/lucky with hard drives, I haven't had failure or corruption in a very long time.

I've had setup issues and PEBKAC but nothing major since.

I'm sure now that I've said that... lol

So true, I think the whole time I was at Wyndham Crossing the "bad power" light was on both my UPSs solidly (not to mention the heat! AND DUST)

That seems so long ago now lol
