(okay not quite that name, actually "Star Fleet Investigative Section") and it's just a rumor from a few months ago, but I only heard of it today:

That's one of three possible series.
The other is a medical drama in the ST universe, and the third is basically "Star Trek: Captain Worf"

"...I could anchor a new ST show where I am in charge." "I think not, Worf!" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edflm7Hh3hs) we shall see... heavy Klingon makeup = doesn't matter how old the actor is 8)
PS: (quote) To be clear, Star Trek is not currently in development for TV and this is a case where the potential is there and inquiries are being made about the rights. (/quote)
When I read the thread title my stomach clenched up a little. I want a new Star Trek series so bad but I want it to be good
Arrgh the Nerd in me
I think a series about an human officer serving on an alien ship would be great.... I loved that TNG episode where riker serves on a klingon ship and they cover some other exchanges and issues between cultures.
Or hey, I know. A series about that Star Fleet Time police stuff. So its nothing but Star Trek time travel.
Absolutely
Or heck even show the rest of the universe outside of Starfleet. They tried to do this with DS9 at the start but it didn't get much mileage, then the TNG writers moved in and it was epic forgettable space battles.
I was just watching "Mudds Women" over my lunch hour and it's striking because here's a guy that is the antithesis of the universe you have been presented with so far a lying, deceitful schemer who'd rather drive his ship to destruction in an asteroid field risking himself and others just to avoid getting caught by surprise... who are those people, I mean if a bumbler like Mudd can be a thorn in Kirks side there's likely to be more.
Maybe this is where the CSI part comes into play, which could be damn interesting.
