Hmm some interesting possibilities with these new slime blocks coming soon.
docm77 has a moving platform. essentially the same as the inchworm drives you'd have made with redpower back in the day.
Hmm, does this sproingy action work horizontally too?
If you are traveling in a horizontally direction, you can get launched up and over, but no, slime blocks don't bounce you horizontally normally.
I was unaware that there was a trampoline slime block coming!

My plans for a giant pinball machine; ruined!

I know right? It's in a couple of other mods so I'm not surprised it's coming to MC

docm77 made a boat launch. you start moving the boat along, and when you pass some trip wire it sets off the piston and slime block, and whoom, you keep your forward momentum while it pushes you up. so not pinball, but still fun ;D
Okay, imagine a road made of all slime blocks, where you are jump-running...
Still, I think I might make a trampoline for funzies once the update is on the server.
BOUNCY CASTLE!!!!!
/r/mincraft is full of new things built with the slime blocks.
- GIANT doors
- Long retracting bridges
- Armor equipping devices
- strange flying, crawling platforms
- new redstone devices / more compact, more efficient
- cannons
list goes on, it is a very versatile block.
Very interesting idea for vertical redstone signal transmitters: http://imgur.com/r/Minecraft/KzKqfkx. I assume it could work in both directions.

In all directions, and with some slight cleverness, around corners.
The only question, I guess, is whether it needs airspace around it so it doesn't drag other blocks along.

Yes, or blocks that can't normally be moved with a piston (obsidian, or other similar blocks)
