Yeah I heard that ... about a week after the DuckDuckGo tab info-page in the latest update. I wonder if Yahoo dangled a carrot made of gold over the head of this 10 years independent organization. But hey freedom ain't cheap (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDWSGmphgTs) right!

fun with "placeholder" HTML tag attribute and Google homepage

Paste this as a Bookmarklet onto your unassuming coworker's PC when they're not looking, label it "Click when at Google.com, COOL!"

javascript:(T$=function(c,o,v){self.C$=c||0,o=document.forms[0]["q"],v=o.getAttribute("placeholder"); o["placeholder"]=v?v+" tic":"Duck(DuckGo), freedom bomb gonna gonna splode!";setTimeout(c>2?'location.href="http://DuckDuckGo.com/?q=BOOM!"':"T$(++C$)",2000)})()

some searching stats show "user choice is less important since so many people make no choice & use default"

So... all that M$-IE hate from way back when? Direct it at FF today, or be branded inconsistent...

Never underestimate the power of lazy users, Microsoft didn't and that's why they got in hot water for pre-installing stuff like IE, Windows Media Player, etc

How many people still use crap like WMP as their premier media management / playback software (instead of something rad like Plex, VLC, etc)

I think ever since they overhauled WMP back in the dark days, I switched to vlc and/or MPC. I still prefer MPC when on windows over just about anything else (including vlc...)
