Think they can beat exploding kittens? :o (I funded that one btw :o)
If I didn't just lose my job, I'd have funded this new one :(
I think they will hit the new number one spot.... They have already moved up a spot and the distance isn't that great...
I kind of expect them to at least be the third highest by tomorrow at this rate.
I just watched the video, man I love this new interface
They're way past their funding goal, so I'll just buy one when they're out but this is great!
I like getting in on the kickstarters for the discount, and extra swag they sometimes have :D
On a side note, how did I miss exploding kittens?
A Pebble Time interview:

Another one, apparently they used Kickstarter for the publicity, they had the money to launch on their own.

I'm not sure. :o it was a rather big thing. I suppose I should have posted it to the forum in the past month? But i figured with how popular it was, I didn't need to. It was funded in like an hour, and broke every single kickstarter record ever.
When I get my copy, anyone interested in playing?
I would be interested in playing, but you would have to come visit or I would have to come crash on your couch..
I have added a tracking image to the first post.
Took third spot this morning.
So what are they going to do with all that extra money? Just manufacture more?

Is it really "extra"? They just got pre paid for all of the devices, instead of having to foot the mfg bill themselves.
They stated in one of the interviews that the kickstarted wasn't needed but was part of their marketing plan going up against the big boys with deep pockets.
It is essentially a pre-order but for pebble that is great since they can recover their tooling costs and initial inventory will be paid for.
I looked up the numbers, Samsung actually had something like 20-30% of the current market. Pebble only has about 6% which puts them in second or third depending how you look at it.
Apple plans to launch with 5 million units to sell.
Pebble is currently at 42,615 packers (may be multiple units per)
Pebble is super super tiny compared to Samsung and Apple.
Well I meant "extra" as in their goal was $500,000 and they're up over $9,000,000 as we speak. I guess with 18 times the money, they can just ask the factory to run 18 times as long.
Interesting that KickStarter is now seen as a place to help market your product.
Also, it's turning out to be a reliable way to pre-order merchandise that will be created in the future. Maybe I'm not paying enough attention, but there don't seem to be a lot of those projects where it's people looking to fund a short film or a painting or something - all the successful kickstarter campaigns have some kind of tangible asset you get at the end. Which means it probably won't help any modern-day Van Goghs, even though that was one of the lofty aspirations KickStarter had when it started.

I hear the microsoft band lets you type reply's now.
There is also unofficial Pebble support but I would not purchase based on that... Apparently MS is still in the restricted limited API phase in windows phone development.
