Isn't that nuts? They've done some insane things lately with flash. Now you can get a /consumer/ m.2 flash drive that can do up to 2-3GB/s.

Turns out though that most software just can't make use of insane speeds like that lol. I've seen it tested on a few different sites now, and going from SATA III/6G SSDs to 2GBps PCIe SSDs gets you about nothing unless you go insane multithreaded. the OS doesn't load much faster, nor do games or apps.

I tell you what, I will be making most of my future PC apps/games use worker queues to load and run things. Use ALL THE CORES and ALL THE BANDWIDTH. Even if it causes my laptop to burn me >:(

Why did I buy a laptop with a i7-3720QM CPU (quad core w/HT) and build a desktop with a AMD FX-8320 (octo core), and a dual socket, 16 core Opteron BEAST of a server???? >:(

...because you are a first-adopter-aholic?

Nothing like paying twice the price for 105% of the speed of The Jones's tech!
