Interesting. I downloaded VS Code a day or two ago after i learned it worked on linux. Its alright. I haven't used it a lot yet though.
Just to make sure you noticed, this is not the source code for Visual Studio, but rather the source code for Visual Studio Code, a separate program that does less (looks like it's only aimed at web- and cloud-based app development).
Yes, it's VS Code, which was in the title :)
This is NOT source to Visual Studio
I don't want them to OSS that because it might unleash demons unto this world

Okay well put the coffee cup down, because Google is teaming up with Microsoft (http://www.geekwire.com/2015/microsoft-and-google-team-up-for-version-2-of-angular-framework/) (for the next release of AngularJS using Microsoft's TypeScript ... after Google dropped "AtScript" which extended TS now they just threw that stuff into the latest TS).
Microsoft.FreeVS or Microsoft.HighProfileOpensource = yeah this a unique time in tech history.

Maybe title shoulda been "Microsoft Open-Sources Visual Studio Code Code"
I'm really liking AngularJS it is surprisingly easy to work with
There would have been less confusion if the headline was "VS Code" but then it would be less click bait-y ;-)
