The terms of service for what they can do with your data are horrible, but easily over come by encrypting everything before uploading..
This make for a very tempting start to replacing my home NAS with cloud storage.
That's not bad. I could add that as another destination for my important backups :D
I would still keep the home NAS. You never know what will happen to a cloud service. So what programs would be good to do encrypted backups of the NAS to this cloud service?

At the moment Encfs is the popular option at least on Linux. (Example config https://amc.ovh/2015/08/14/mounting-uploading-amazon-cloud-drive-encrypted.html)
