Title: Windows 10 update killed a friends all in one yesterday
Post by: Lazybones on June 13, 2017, 10:11:20 AM
While I am very happy that MS is making auto update easier, I think they need to STOP pushing our major releases as part of the update stream.

Looks like a friends all-in-one got the creators update / what ever the big one is called these days and it killed all of the USB ports / inputs on the system.

Tried the GO BACK procedure via a boot USB but no go.. Had to dig in and do a data rescue.

This systems was also pushed to Window 10 from 7 by Microsoft.

Free upgrades are great if you want them but I think MS is doing some serious damage here to individuals with old computers that may have incompatible drivers / hardware.

I should probably clarify that the hardware still works but the main os install is stuck because it essentially has no input device support.

A total wipe should bring it back but I had to rescue their data first
