Started a new thread because all the other threads have years in their titles.
CONNOR MCDAVID SIGNED AN 8-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION. He is under contract to the Oilers until the season ends in 2026. He has one more year on his entry-level contract (ELC), and after this coming season will get paid $100,000,000 for 8 years, for a cap hit of $12,500,000 per year (not sure how the actual pay is structured, it's probably front-loaded so he gets more of that money sooner).
This contract is lower than most people were expecting ($13,250,000+ per year). No news on Leon Draisaitl's contract extension yet, but hopefully it's not too high so that the team will continue to be able to keep better players on the roster.
Jussi Jokinen on a cheap deal, now Johann Auvitu in on a cheap contract as coverage for D injuries. There's gonna be a few new names this fall. BUT STILL, MCDAVID.
