Remember they can take a loss on the hardware and profit off of Halo 3 and other software sales.

That's how they entered the market and I am sure that's how they will try and dominate it.

This is exactly the info we knew already.  Anything before E3 is 150% speculation.

Part Two is available as well: http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/microsoft-xbox/594355p1.html

QuoteWhether the games are single player or multiplayer, all Xenon titles tie into a new gamer profile feature. Think of it as a universal profile for each gamer that uses the system; the gamer profiles are the player's single identity across all Xenon games...

What are your thoughts on that, Live gamers? Does this worry you, that /\/\$ can "profile" you? ;)

I think its a great idea actually.  When i put in a new EA title normally i get bonuses for all the saved games, and my records in each.

Now take it one step further I like the idea of having my stats for all my games avaiable online, and even allow microsoft to filter players, game info and such my way dependant.  I'd like to play against people my skill and a global profile could perhaps make me even play against people in my age group as well.

Targetted marketting doesnt bother me.  What bothers me is that im like a mammoth in the pants but still get viagra emails.  *shrug*

'Cause we all know what a rousing success Passport was.

"Microsoft endlessly walking into the same brick wall forever..."

...sorry for the thread resurrection but we got more info (or do we?)!

QuoteMCV quoted "a senior source at a major US publisher" as saying: "We have been told to expect roughly one million Xbox 2s in Europe alone by the end of theyear, and 1.5 million by the end of March.
..and...

QuoteIt's yet to be confirmed if Xbox 2 will have a hard disk, but Allard seemed to suggest it would not be necessary for customisation purposes: "My cell phone is incredibly personalised, but without a hard drive," he said. "One reason is because of the great connection to the service."
..that about sums up the article, but you can read the rest if your interested: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=58430

...another tidbit i found over at Betanews
QuoteOne month before Microsoft's next-generation Xbox makes its much-anticipated debut at E3 in Los Angeles, Microsoft has announced a lineup of over 25 game publishers that will develop titles for the new platform. The company says its revamped Xbox will usher in a new era of high-definition gaming.

A console is only as good as its games, so Microsoft has assembled the industry's top publishers, including 2KGames, Atari, Electronic Arts, Sega, Konami, Midway, Rockstar and more. The publishers will be backed by Microsoft's own Game Studios, which is comprised of ten different game developers.
...nothing special, just a list of the publishers, and none are suprising (would love to see GT5 on NextBox)
