So what are everyone's plans to see Revenge of the Sith? Are we planning on seeing it as a group at some point? Is anybody a diehard who's going to line up for the midnight show?
I think I might go tomorrow after work and maybe on Friday afternoon.

Went and saw it yesterday at North Edmonton Cinemas at 5:15. I won't say much, other then that I thought it was a good movie, but good in the way that leaves you shaking on the outside and a roiling, writhing mass of emotions on the inside. I'll go again when the rest of the group goes.
Made it to a 6:30 show last night.. Better than the one and two. Hard to say if it was better than any of the origonals.. Maybe better than Jedi, since it has Wookies instead of Ewoks.
Bad acting, over acting,stupid CG characters / machines, and some awkward moments are over shadowed by some great action.
Several Jedi die way too easy but for the most part it is very clear how they where all taken out so quickly, dispite having such awsume moves.
The setup for Anikin going to the dark side was well done.. I was shocked that it wasn't over simplified.
I'd agree with Lazy's overall assessment, particularly when it came to effects. There were some places where the effects were beautiful and appropriate to the story, but there were other shots that'd I'd almost call gratuitous. One particular panning scene with a CGI mount comes to mind in particular, you'll know it when you see it.
It wasn't a perfect movie, but it still told the story well, and held nothing back. Darren and Thorin, I hate to say this, but I wouldn't take your young kids too it, unless they have a very strong understanding that movies aren't real, and have a more mature outlook. This movie is a Tragedy, in the Shakesperean/Greek sense of the word, and that fall hits that much harder because we have seen that person grow up, and the eventual results of his actions. Even though I knew it was coming, it still twisted my gut to see what happens, and I'm not sure if young children have the emotional maturity to deal with not only the violent action, but also the complete fall from grace of a hero. Up to you guys, though.

There's an IMDB thread simply debating (yeah, right!) about how bad The Lucas Dialogue ™ is... (arguably) good actors + badly-done bad dialogue = rental for this non-SW fan :P

I really hope this is the last we see of Lucas. I wouldnt shed a tear. Sure the film was good, 7/10. Anti-climatic in that i knew the backstory well before Episodes 1-3 were started. He just doesnt have the skills to carry a $200M budget movie. Also its worth noting, that Lucas didnt direct or write the screen plays for V & VI (argueably the better films in the trilogy)

Remember, kiddies, Kevin Smith got a before-everybody-else sneak peek so he could kiss up to The Lucas, and voila he's involved in (the writing I think, of) the Star Wars TV series... Oh Lord have mercy on us and let that just be a rumour/a project that never gets off the ground...
Personally, again not seeing RotS yet (nor planning on it) I thought Ewan's voice acting in Robots was out of place, yet was somehow far more interesting than approximately half of his screentime in "Shallow Grave", which btw managed to be an excellent and often-silly little thriller of a film despite that.
Sam Jackson is Da Man, don't knock him, or he gonna bus' y'ass! :P
Oh, and Portman I have nothing to say, never seen a film with her so is it possible to cast judgement based purely on trailers? ;)
Sad when a film like this, so heavily hyped and eagerly anticipated, has its best quality, even to many of the totalfans, still being the action and SFX...

There was also a huge debate on the Forumopolis forums about the proper order to watch the Star Wars movies (especially for those who may not have seen any of them). While some naturally suggested them in order (I, II, III, IV, V, VI) other suggested original release order (IV, V, VI, I, II, III) so as not to spoil any surprises.
A wonderful suggestion was made though and I must agree that it is probably the best way I've heard of to watch the entire epic.

I felt III wasn't painful to watch and there were some parts I genuinely enjoyed. There's also bits that I really thought were just goofy (extended CG mount sequence, "oh no not the younglings!!!!!!!!11@2", "hold me like you did before", etc.). I'd watch this one again but I'm never going to buy it. It just doesn't feel like very good movie value for my buck despite the super-awesome four armed lightsaber wielding and Mace Windu: Fiercely Interesting Jedi.
