Slashdot posters are for the most part sick to their collective stomach at how stupid it is to charge somebody for doing something that your OS does automatically without you even knowing... And some of them use terrible analogies to back up their opinions. :)

And on occasion, Mr. Dvorak is both prescient and correct (this is one of those occasions (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1565274,00.asp)).



But of course, Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WarDriving) tries to handle it with a NPOV. :)



I say it's all about personal responsibility - you offer a service to the world unless you restrict access to it (I like the amazon.com HTTP visit analogy).
