I won't even go there....
$6,101.02
Hmm, it appears as though I suck.
Happily, I'm pretty close to $0.00 (last few months I've been addicted to impusle-buys-from-dropping-in at HMV's "2 for $30" sale prices, plus Safeway's "$7.99 and up" DVD box-o-movies-from-the-80s-and-90s, etc.)
Oh, and maybe the values he assigned are a bit bloated numbers:
"I have assumed that a movie costs $19.95, a videogame is $49.95, an album is 50 minutes long and costs $14.92, a TV season box set costs $39.99 and an isolated TV episode costs $1.99 as it does on Google Video."
Although I admit, $39.99 for a TV season is a toss of a coin; usually I find they're about $3.00 per episode, so less than that is awesome (Scrubs, Millenium once I found it on sale from $60.00 down to $40!) but more is typical for popular geek stuff (Star Trek [anything], X-Files, Seinfeld, even Family Guy when it first comes out). So maybe $39.99 per season is a reasonable average.
Okay, so what was my point here? ... :|

Remeber that these numbers are in US dollars.
$4,793.67 CAD
:D as I go and buy most of the music I like
Hehe - $26328.28
music value based on size of my MP3 folder at 1 minute per meg, and I just kinda rounded and guessed at the number of movies, tv shows, and games - I rounded my estimates up, but I also didn't include anything that I've burned to disk while estimating.
Wowsers! $107191.87
Most of the cost of that is from the games I have - $99900 worth on a low-end guess. And I still buy games pretty regularly too! Many of my pirated games are hard-to-find SNES games or totally awesome arcade-board version MAIM ROM fighting games & shooters.
If you ever wonder who would buy old SNES games for download on the Revolution, look no further! ;)
$12,666.10, though $8,169.10 of that is Music. Ah well, if piracy is sooo wrong, why is it sooo easy?
If murder is so wrong, why is it sooo easy?
Nobody said doing the right thing was easy OR profitable.

*shock* ;)
I guessed I had about 2000 minutes worth of "music", pluss 100+ anime shows, and maybe 100 ish extra individual episodes of stuff, mine came out to 46,978.45 canadian.
Though thats probably not accurate, since an entire Anime goes for up to hundreds, or thousands, depending on the show (some have hundreds of episodes, most of mine though have 13 to 40, and a few have 60-100 eps).
So yeah.
Just realized I forgot to include my anime directory.
Also, I didn't count all the emulated games I have - just ones big enough that they need a CD of their own. If I went through all the ROMs on my xbox and multiplied times $50 a game it'd be another $50000 at least. Of course, all those ancient games can be bought now for $5 each or less, assuming you can find them.
