Title: The latest canadian copyright update
Post by: Cova on April 26, 2006, 11:02:05 AM
I think a few others around here are interested in this topic, and there's some interesting news today.  A whole bunch of Canadian music artists have formed the Canadian Music Creators Coalition, and put out a whitepaper with their opinions on DRM, sueing customers, P2P, etc.  of which they are all against.

Good commentary about it over here: http://www.michaelgeist.ca/

A shcism in industry associations could mean some interesting legal issues in the future (i.e. which is more representitive, why do some groups demand levvies and others not, etc)...

as all this DRM stuff comes about and all these issues i have never noticed an issue with my IRC sources.  Hopefully that continues.  Music is in my opinion overpriced on CD format and more so in digital format.
