Joss Whedon will be writing a post-season seven Buffy the Vampire Slayer series (http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2006/07/the_new_buffy_c.html) for Dark Horse. I enjoyed his work on Fray, set in the future of the Buffyverse. I hope the new comic will be just as good.
I read about that last week on this IMDB forum:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0923736/board/nest/37578389
There was a possibility of a TV, maybe even direct-to-DVD miniseries thingie but due to stupid balking producers etc. Joss decided to go the comic route...
...interesting, there were quite a few comics set in the "Angel" storyline (not just Buffy) and even one set in the middle of season5 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illyria:_Spotlight_%28Angel_comic%29) and one some time after the series finale (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Friends_%28Angel_comic%29). Might be fun to pick those up, such a fantastic group of rich, memorable characters... ( "Non-Canonical Warning (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffyverse_canonical_issues#Non-canonical_comics_and_novels)", of course ::) )
Unaired pilots? Angel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unaired_Angel_pilot) and Buffy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unaired_Buffy_pilot) (plus an Angel episode (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corrupt_%28unaired_Angel_episode%29) (!)
(The unaired Angel pilot, from which much of the first real Pilot, and the opening credits, get their footage, is available on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/results?search=Angel+unaired+pilot&search_type=search_videos&search=Search) :o )
Sorta completely partially offtopic...
ROFLMAO x 100!
Even better (funnier, more painful to watch) = Three's Company "unaired opening theme":
