A rebirth of that Total Conversion for C&C Generals is the rumor. Shut down by Microsoft then hired to work on it as a legitimate title.

As I remember Halo was originally susposed to be an RTS. But FPS was easier to do on a console, and bungie wanted to have the launch title for the XBox so Halo was born a FPS first.
