Just gonna add in one of my favorite conversations with a customer:
Customer: My internet isn't working, no matter what I do
me: Ok, do you have a router?
Cust: yes
me: can you look at the modem and router and tell me what lights are on
cust: there are no lights
me: no lights on either of them?
cust: no, no lights
me: alright can you find the power cables and plug those in
cust: how the hell am I supposed to know this @%&# needs power?
classic idiocy:
Customer: "It says, 'Hit ENTER when ready'."
Tech Support:: "Well?"
Customer: "How do I know when it's ready?"
