Sounds like they will start taking pre orders tomorrow according to one website.
Might be worth checking out.
Called the downtown location, there will be no pre-orders until the number of shipping units is confirmed.
EB had a meeting yesterday... Preorders will not be announced ahead of time to avoid lineups at the stores.
New rumored days are Tomorrow the 13th or Monday the 16th. EB stores open at 10am, you must be there in person to pre order and the PS3 pre order amount is supposed to be $200 cash in hand, or so they think.
I was there last night and they said it won't be tonight...

It's weird, you get this malformation on your face called a "smile" and you start to have a life again. ;)

I see... ;)
Though obviously there was some missed job satisfaction there for a successful poaching to have happend, right?
Either way, congradulations and enjoy your new job, wherever it is.
I got an email from EB today, Pre-Orders are on Monday the 16th. $200 cash/credit required.

The $15,000 a year pay raise, and the 20% profit sharing had something to do with it.

Sweeeeeet.
Even if you where there at 5:00AM and waited till 10:00AM it was not early enough to get a pre order for ether a PS3 OR a Wii.
I expected to still be able to get a Wii preorder but even the Wii seems to be super popular.
City Centre EB only had 6 PS3s for pre order. 6 ! That is fewer quantities than the impossible to get 360 was when released.

"I'd like to know exactly who is behind this ad. Oh, wow, this ad is so mysterious and now I am intrigued. They totally convinced me to fork over $600+ dollars for their console with that amazingly persuasive TV spot. Yeah, ok. Sony blows. I'm getting a Wii, for sure. I think Nintendo actually understands that people HAVE LIVES OUTSIDE GAMING and that most people don't want to throw away hundreds and hundreds of dollars into video games."
:D
Weirdly Sony hasn't really spent any money on TV advertising (so far as I have seen). Has anyone else noticed this?
I dont think they need to. The first batch will sell, and many batches after that, seems like a waste of advertising cash
More like the first batch HAS sold.. I don't think they have many more than what was offered for preorder.
I think this (http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=212) explains everything.

hehe, I saw that one.. It will be interesting to see if that is what happens.
It already has ;) There was 6 PS3s, and N Wii's. :P

Not that hard to repackage a Gamecube ;) Nintento is going to make Sony and Microsoft look foolish in the short term, that is for certain.
Its not EXACTLY a game cube :P though it is evolutionary, instead of the "normal" revolutionary.

Haha, that was great.
Well, even with all the problems, im hoping to get $1500+ each for 2 of my 3 that I got coming. I would like to keep 1.
Ja, I'd still like to see one hands on.
I got some very juicy news from the fine folks over at Future Shop. While I was looking over some 360 stuff (i want that wireless headset bad!) i over heard what appeared to be a manager and a staff member talking. They were talking about making room for the Wii and the PS3 and the manager said that they will be getting this stuff in any time now and that they will need room for about 100 Wiis. Sounds like a lot, but if Nintendo can ship 2,000,000, then their should be a lot in circulation for those interested.
I am going to keep an eye out for the launch fliers and the pricing.. I am sure some stores will be offering more for less and others will be force bundling crap as well.
I do have to hand it to Nintendo though, this is the first time since the SNES that you can buy a Wii, bring it home, and start to play. Bundling a game (even if it isn't that great) is a fantastic way to ensure kids (14 and under?) will be happy Xmas morning.
I really want to see one in action, i think it could be a lot of fun with a bunch of guys over playing Madden or Warioware.
Didn't Mario 64 come with the N64 (the one I had did) and the GameCube came in 2 differnt paks (one with Zelda and one with Mario Sunshine) as I recall, a year later they had the Mario Kart one (which is what I bought).
Im talking "release", heck even the 360 comes with a game these days. However when i bought my Gamecube and my N64 neither came with a title.
